Research Evidence
The Build2Talk program is an evidence-based program adapted from research done on LEGO®-Based Therapy and blocks play research. This program is suited for children from age 4 and up. It is 100% online designed for use at the comfort of your home or school. Lego® therapy was originally developed as a social development program for autistic children and other children with social communication difficulties. It uses children’s love of Lego® play, to develop communication and social skills. However, the positive outcomes from LEGO-based therapy can also benefit any child from age 4 and up. In the area of research on blocks play research, studies have shown that blocks can function as powerful learning tools. Studies suggested that toy blocks can help children develop the following skills:
- motor skills and hand-eye coordination
- spatial reasoning
- cognitive flexibility
- language skills
- a capacity for creative, divergent thinking
- social competence and engineering skills.
Who is the programme for?
The Build2Talk program is suited for parents, teachers and therapists who need a practical program to train essential skills of children on the autism spectrum, children with learning disabilities or any child who has started to learn to play LEGO®.
